5 yrs + ago

my outward bound days...it was as if it happened yesterday but came to realize it was more than 5 years since i joined outward bound..

i reminisced the anticipation and excitement in me when mum wanted to send me for this camp! i remembered i browsed again and again through their website, trying to know more about it but only when i joined and experienced it made me know MORE than what it showed in the website!

back then i dont own a digital camera, still using those, erm... FLIM ones!

haha, classic right! :)

so these photos were from samantha, a very loyal ex-bounder! :) i actually stole from her facebook

these beautiful photos remind me of the 11-day best ever camp, never ever beat the scout and guide camp, though scout camps have their uniqueness!

great experience indeed...

it made me wanna join the 25 days camp now cz i'm no longer eligible for kids/youth camp anymore :( being a Course Assistant (CA) will not have much fun than campers! this is a well known fact

these are the dorms we stayed :) really cool dorms! the lowest dorm on the right is Jerai which is the one i stayed last time! second highest is Camah (i think) on the left and Irau comes third above tahan...highest is Kinabalu :)

not surprise to see big cars there because these camps designed with the best way to shape kids these days! albeit the price, parents paid RM800, it worthed every penny! i swear i didnt waste my parents money on this camp! i love this camp to abosulte bits
oh ya, this is Dewan Tan Sri Hutson, dont ask me why cz i dont remember the history! haha

the interior of Dewan Tan Sri Hutson

this is where we learn to belay!

belayer: lock and check?
climber: locked and checked.
belayer: squeeze check?
climber: squeeze check. am i on belay?
belayer: take in line
climber: that's me
belayer: yes, you are
instructor check
climber: climbing?
belayer: climb on

till the top
climber lam ee wen: TAHAN ROCKS! :) *i think i did not say this, i think i said WE LOVE KAK SU (my instructor)*

those were the basic skills before we head for the real ROCK climbing at the hill

the OBS song :)

the canteen!!!

the food was so yummylicious except for the supper!! haha
very balanced diet served...there's always carbs, protein, and lots FIBRE...papaya rocked my stomach like HOLY COW k!! haha :D

the sinks where we have to do our own watch cleaning...

the equipment store and boat house

i dont remember this, but yea all the names of the watches (groups)! i'm from TAHAN :))

the kayaks in the boat house...the drums were to use for rafting! we have to build our own raft!! and of cz we won the race :))

view from sea...

more views of the boat house

the bbq pit!!!! we played stupid dumb games there!!!! omg omg....cool-ness!!!!!
the must-have bbq dinner before the camp ends whereby parents and family members are invited to see how their kids are...that's the time we cried out hearts and lungs out cz the next day will be the last day :(

the experience is worth more than RM800! there's no other words to describe the experience we gain! it was just AWESOME

to serve to strive and not to yield :)

i LOVE obs!
