my TA is like lightning!

she finished marking 50+ papers in 3 1/2 hrs...

feeling rather relax just to finish up all the assignments...

glad that i survived my p chem exam 3 even though it sucked kinda bad...but at least i can say HEY I'M DONE WITH P CHEM....and i survived from my biochem major! =)

this semester passed real fast comparatively to other semesters which were dreadfully l-o-n-g...after this week will be finals and i'm a semester away from my mortar board...

quite satisfied with this semester... =)

i've achieved quite a bit this semester too!

first science paper published as second author..!!

survived P Chem (hardest subject in uni comparing with all the other subjects from all colleges)

had lots of fun especially in geography in-class and out of class... =DDD

one last round of sleepless week next week and i will be done for the semester!!!

so here's the question...i wanted to learn an extra language (apparently knowing 5 languages is not enough for me?) hahahaha

and there are 2 choices...FRENCH vs SPANISH...

the classes are both at the same price, same location different days...

why i'm in dilemma..

i wasnt convinced that french is widely spoken in europe than spanish so i googled and actually after learning much from world geography, spanish is widely used in south america, US and western africa...french is used in some parts of africa too...!!!

so most europeans speak ..?

english? lol...

i think it's german...

BUT I DONT WANT!!!

this week is DREADFUL...

like freaking dreadful...i felt so zombie-fied!

after exams on thu, while walking back from class to lab, i practically sleep walked...i closed my eyes while walking cz my eyes hurt so bad that it's like they were exploding anytime...

i had an assignment due on mon,

a take home quiz due on tue,

a lab report and a problem set due on wednesday,

exams on thu,

an assignment due on fri...

and that doesnt end there...

TWO more exams on monday...

since when there's 9 days a week?

i had to start working on stuff since last sun and all these craps will only end next monday...

procrastination kills big time...

even though you know you should not procrastinate...somehow...

wanted food dairy and tech but it's the prof i didnt like...cz i've been skipping most of his classes now! :p

i've 3 courses from the FDST now...*food science minor?*

so yea i'm planning to get a job in industry first in anywhere except any states in the midwest, PLEASE!! :( for a year...

then to graduate school in probably aussie... o.O!!

last few days, i thought i would continue in UNL but not anymore...

i freaking hate the weather here cz it made me go cranky especially when the weather goes right down to -xxC!!

so in the next one year, i will try to gain as much experience as i can, prepare as much as i can to enter grad school and save as much as i can to continue studying...

sounds like a better plan huh!

will see when is the next time my plans change AGAIN...

i had the weirdest dream last night...!!!

i remember i have to put the "class of 2011" words on my mortar board so that my sis can see me from the top!!!!! but i didnt prepare that!!! and so i did that in 10 mins!!!

when i wanted to put on some make up it was already 1055!!! =(

i'm so gonna miss my commencement!

i'm VERY SURE i had my EXAMS on 28th of oct in 2009

and now 2010 i have EXAMS on my birthday....

for most of my student life, i had exams on/during my birthday period...

this year, i had a freaking long day since 9am till 830pm....had a quiz, 2 reports, an assignment and exams all due on the same day and another assignment due the next day....leaving me with only 2 freaking hours to spend some time with few friends for the birthday...

i didnt get to celebrate my birthday with my family (5 of us) since high school...

in 2005, dad was still working in ipoh...

in 2006, dad was still working in ipoh, bro was in switzerland, sis was in US

all i remembered on that year's birthday was having a dinner at mcd with mum!

in 2007, i was in nilai...

had a pretty good celebration with a big bunch of friends since it was my birthday+farewell

in 2008, i was in US

in 2009, same as the above

in 2010, still the same as above

i wonder how it feels to be like to celebrate the real birthday with all 5 of us on the real day with no annoying reasons such as EXAMS...

i bet it's gonna be awesome...

it doesnt mean that i dont enjoy my birthday celebrations in these few years no matter big or small scales...just that it has been so long that i dont remember dad setting up his old film camera and all 5 of us will squeeze into the picture....maybe sitting on dad's lap... =)))

oh well, i was supposed to have a big scale party today but it turned out to be another small gathering...it's just fcking annoying when people fcking PROMISE to come but they end up not coming! it's just so an AMERICAN culture....but we had fun watching 2 horror movies and a comedy...since we were potong-ed stim, we decided to be a potato couch and just watch movies instead of dressing up and hit the downtowns...

and we actually purposely buy costumes to dress up...

just so we got potong-ed stim...

i felt like i remember a whole bunch of people's birthdays by hard...in the particular month i remember whose birthday it was but sometimes i just didnt drop them a message to say hi...it didnt mean that i dont treat them as friends anymore but i'm usually caught up with something (not a very good reason since i'm almost 24/7 on fb), i guess most of the time i'll check if they have wished me before and still treat me as a friend if it is worth wishing before i do anything....

it's just a weird part of me i guess

sometimes...

it made me wonder should i just close the facebook account...

no doubt connecting with friends

but also the cons are just annoying and bringing problems which shouldnt be a problem...

my shocking parcels

from some mysterious people i love...

so one day after class i dont remember when was it...sometime towards the end of august...after class i came back and i found this box in my room...seldom my housemate will leave parcels in my room cz we usually leave our letters or parcels on the dining table outside the room...

who on earth from malaysia will send me a parcel? can't be anybody from home since i just told them to ask my friend to bring over for me! and there was no address or name from the sender or whatsoever...and the handwriting actually looks like mine! which means looks like my sister's!

getting more weird....

i tried to shake and see what's in there...i hear noise like some small stuff rolling here and there....

it's in a box...not clothes for sure!

then i got curious and tore the wrapper....

then last 2 weeks or so, i saw this super awesome deal on dealsea...$800+ for a DSLR body and 2 lenses...so i shared the news with christophe(since he's so into photography and he wanted to get a new DSLR) and of cz patrick(sis's bf)...

then they gave me they point of views etc etc etc...and of cz they were saying it was a good deal!

but patrick told me not to get it....i should wait for THANKSGIVING!!!

and since it was a huge amount of money, i didnt simply sign for it...if i were to buy i will still go through my dad's stage before i buy it!

so i obediently listened to patrick...

then patrick asked me for my home address cz he wanted to send me sis's clothes and boots for me!

i was like harrrr jie has so many clothes one meh...every year also got new clothes for me....

so i innocently gave him my address....

few days later....

patrick called me to inform me that i would receive my parcel the next day...i was like ooh cannot wor, wednesday i have class from 9-8pm...then he said harr, need signature one wor....then i was like ooh ok if not i'll go to the post office and get it lorrr...

then he kept quiet....

so on wednesday, after a freaking bad day cz i failed my food microbio exams 2 as many did....and was freaking nervous for the next day's biochem 2 since i have not prepare anything on it yet...wasn't in a good mood the whole day....

i came back and saw this...

i saw 2 packages but i only have one so i thought i should go over the next door to ask for the second one and she told me she has given all to my housemate...

then i immediately opened the box and this is what i see...

i couldnt guess what was that!

and rebel doesnt strike my mind...

only when i saw T2i...

i got shocked and stunned....

i stared blankly at the box for at least 5 minutes before i could react!

picnic trip

bout 2 months ago, yes i know, i havent been updating my blog...

we organized a picnic trip at branched oak lake...

look how pathetic nebraskans are...fake beach at a LAKE!

it was some small gathering before christophe's dad, antonio and dr grass's phd advisor, dr neis go home and julien's welcome party since he just joined the lab...

so before we head over to the lake, we went to the lab to get ice boxes and of cz free supply of ice from the lab! we actually emptied the whole ice thingy.... =DDD

then christophe is always "leader" of everything in the lab, he brought tonnes of food!!! =)))

and since i had nothing to do, i prepared...

guess what...

I CUT MY OWN HAIR!!!

yes i cut my freaking own hair all by myself!

the first time i cut one's hair was for my bro and he say just cut however you like...but obviously i was scared and it turned out to be it didnt look like it was cut! =DDD

then the second time i cut my bf(at that time)'s hair...and of cz i got complained for cutting the back flat like americans.... =DDD sorry ler, i dont always cut people's hair one k....

this time i cut my own cz i was so reluctant to go to the hair dresser to let the americans cut my hair even though if they are professional or whatever... so here's the deal going to a professional will cost me at least 30-40 bucks which i will look not too bad....going to the college/academy will cost me 7-10 bucks which i will look super FUGLY! so how?!

i went to walmart and bought a pair of scissors which cost me only 9 bucks... and the end result was...

today started off with the funniest moment and is the best highlight of the trip....and yea i almost get killed by my bosses...LOL

so last night my big boss asked me to set the alarm for everybody to wake up...since he turned off his phone for charging and etc...and i said OKAY! =) so i asked him what time should we get up, he said 7am! okay sure! happily i did my assigned task to set the alarm at 7am...

and this morning my alarm rang at 7am!!!! BUT IT WAS LINCOLN TIME!!!!!

it was only 6am in UTAH!!!!

O.O!!!!!!

and my alarm ring tone is the most annoying ringtone ever!

we definitely could not make it for the noon trip and we will not get the 230pm trip

so we will not get to visit the canyon...

so my accidental morning call saved our lives!

after breakfast, obviously from the hotel....we started our journey at 8-ish/9am...

we headed more west and south into UTAH...the place is less vegetation as you can see....it's getting lesser trees/grass as we go.....

so on the way exiting, we saw many ambulances and emergency teams rushing towards the arches...we didnt suspect anything...just felt weird...

after lunch we headed to the canyonlands...

then we headed out back to the hotel right after sunset...so from the canyonlands out to the main road was bout 15-20 minutes drive...the gas was running freaking LOW! our beloved car owner got so FREAKED OUT....we were just || this close to call AAA to get us more gas...yet the big boss said it's ok....we can still reach the next gas station....it's okayyyyyyy...

but the beloved driver/car owner got really freak out that he couldnt utter a word....he was so so so quiet....being the noisy backseat driver, me, also the youngest, also the cheekiest....i tried to calm him down by talking some nonsense to distract him....but obviously i failed =.=" so i gave him a gum to chew on....

after another 20-30 minutes drive from the junction of the exit, we finally reached monticello, a small little town...of course the first stop was the gas station!!! after filling up the gas, i teased him!!!! hahahaha!!! sorry buddy, i know you were really freaked out, so am i, but i've never seen you to be that quiet before!!!! :p we could have stranded in the middle of the canyonlands and would have to wait for AAA for at least 5 hours to rescue us! o.O

we continued for bout 30 minutes to blanding...we arrived at blanding few minutes before 9pm and that's when all the shops were closed....even subway or whatever grocery store....which means..?! NO DINNER!!!! o.m.g!!! blanding is worse than monticello, bear that in mind, if anyone wants to go to UTAH and to these small towns....

we drove around and of cz backseat driver isn't that annoying/useless....this is when i show them i'm useful!!! hiak hiak hiak!!!!

while christophe was bout to turn left on a junction, i saw a restaurant showing the "open" sign! i was like TURN RIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! there's food there!!!!!

wheeeeeeeee!!! =)

and so we managed to get some dinner there...thanks to this backseat driver! ho ho ho!!!

happened that the whole day i was in my swiss t shirt and the family beside us was from swiss!!!! the mother was asking me have i been to switzerland!!!! O.M.G!!! i had to say no... =( then christophe was teasing me.... *he got back his mood after refilling gas* so you've never been to swiss but you wear something from swiss?!?! isshh!!!!!! *cannot mehhhhh?!?!* grrrrr

then we went back to the hotel to have a good rest for us and the car....

and, remember we saw emergency teams heading towards the arches?!

we found out from the news that there's this "genius" attempted to commit suicide....this smart dude tried to jump over a 2m wide gap...at first he MADE IT!!!! then he lose control and fell back right into the cliffs and of course he "committed suicide" awesome, no?!

where got such dumb ass jump over a 2m gap without any safety equipment one!!!

tsk tsk tsk....

btw, there's only 3 pictures from a DSLR...can you spot the three? =) if you can't that means my powershot is wayyyy too powerful! as powerful as a DSLR! :p
