there was this REU summer program in REDOX Biology department and Bioenergy department going on for 10 weeks in UNL...
students who were chosen come from out-of-state, e.g., for our lab, Maya is from Massachusetts and Eboni is from Philadelphia
these people earn $4500 in 10 weeks while poor fellows like Alex and I earn even less than them in TWO years!
so yea, the REU summer program organizers organized a welcome party picnic at Max Romper Park for faculty, staff, grad students and the REU students...
oh wait, actually i'm not one of the invited ones listed on the paper...i went because i've received an invitation via email, so does that count as i'm invited as well?

btw, fyi, i'm still wearing size S for t shirts and size XS for shorts and they still have rooms...
so dont worry...

and yea, that girl beside me is Maya
after dinner and ice cream by our very own dairy store, we went for frisbee
and thanks to alexandre
the frisbee went into the water
and davide has to sacrifice his pants while saving the frisbee but we ended up not getting it back anyway...
:(
but overall we had great fun among ourselves as the 2 REU students in our lab didnt really join us
